Problems with filter?

You do need the filter, but it is possible to fix it up so it won't hurt your fish. Depending on what kind of filter you have, you might be able to wrap a strip nylon (pantyhose or tights) around the intake. This dulls the filter down and keeps your betta from getting sucked in.
