Any suggestions on how to teach Personality Development and Public Relations to freshmen college students?

I am currently teaching Personality Development and Public Relations subject to freshmen college students. In my previous experiences teaching the same subject, I require them to organize an activity wherein they have to do a show. Using their scarce resource, they need to be creative and cooperative in order to attain their objective and to get good marks from me. Is there any suggestions and/or advises with which I can make this subject more meaningful and helpful to each student regardless of the level of their social skills.
