What Did this Wasp Secrete?

There was a wasp on the patio this morning and it was acting funny. Something seemed to be wrong with a wing or one of its back legs, it couldn't fly and it was contorting around. Then its back end, its I should say, started contorting around too and it basically crapped this white gooey stuff in a little pile. Sounds gross (and it looked really gross), but I really want to know what it was. It came out of the little point on the back end. What was this stuff?
