Will a deformation in a speaker driver cone affect the sound?

I just spent weeks building some speakers, and i open the package for my midrange drivers today and notice there is sort of a ripple on the driver cone (extending from the rim to the center of the driver). its hard to see unless i angle the driver in the light in the right way, but it's definitely there. could this affect the sound?
