Why do protestants don't respect the catholicism?

I have two friends who called to the roman catholic the of babylon and stuff like that.. and that's satan and I have read many pamphlets from chick and I have heard pastors who speak against the catholicism on based of the bible.. who can they dare to insult the church which collected the NT by the holy spirit in the different councils and to say we are the of the book of revelations and to say the pope is the anti-christ? is that a christian way of loving your friends? where jesus said love others as well your enemies.. I don't consider them as my enemies but my country had been catholic years ago and now we have many protestant churches.. I live in mx. and I think this ideology is every protestant church in USA and around the world.
