Piece of onyx has cloudy finish after immersed in acetone. how do i fix it?

so i accidentally immersed a block of onyx in some nail polish remover and now it has a kind of white, dirty finish. how do i fix it? should i use a certain cleaner? i've tried water and soap but it didn't work. i really want it to look well finished, kind of glossy like before.
