Does this sound right?

I just called my dr to explain some symptoms i have been having with what i think to be a cold and they just told me i could take all sorts of cold medicine even nyquil. I dont feel comfortable taking any of this, doesnt nyquil have alcohol in it? I want to trust my dr and feel better but this doesnt seem right. HAs anyone taken cold meds such as nyquil, sudafed, etc during pregnancy? They said if it doesnt get better then i could come in but would the ob listen to my lungs just like a general dr would?
