Christians, what made Aleister Crowley evil? That he spread the fact that the occult = truth and bible = lies?

My opinion is that he was dubbed the evilest man in the world in Victorian England, under very prudish culture, and it's just been ped on nonchalantly that he's evil, without the things he did necessarily being all that evil by today's standards. As Crowley said, the only difference between him and the pope is what they consider sacred and what they consider profane.
